Continuing a long tradition of giving back to the community, Crosby Marketing Communications recently held its 12th annual Inspiring Actions That Matter™ Day, working with five local nonprofits.
This year, Crosby’s 120 employees from the firm’s Annapolis and Bethesda, Md., offices provided a total of 660 hours of volunteer time and $5,000 to each organization for a total of $25,000. Crosby worked with these groups:
- Anne Arundel County Food Bank seeks to alleviate food insecurity by obtaining and distributing nourishing food to neighbors in need. Crosby volunteers sorted donations and boxed food for local pantries.
- Charting Careers inspires youth to discover their power and reach their goals by supporting at-risk kids and their families. Crosby’s team transformed the Charting Careers Annapolis youth center and office into a more welcoming learning environment, including painting walls and assembling new furniture.
- Operated by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the 238-acre Claggett Farm in Upper Marlboro uses sustainable farming methods to raise native trees and shrubs for restoration plantings throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The Crosby team worked in the tree nursery and vegetable fields.
- Girls on the Run Greater Chesapeake uses fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others. Crosby volunteers helped prepare for the fall 5K Celebration event by filling race packets and creating giveaways for participants.
- Wellness House of Annapolis provides support, education, and services in a home-like environment to help individuals and families who have been touched by cancer recover their health and well-being. Crosby planted and mulched flower beds, installed fountains, and built an outdoor swing.
“Inspiring Actions That Matter™ is our company mission and giving back to the community is one of our core values,” said agency President and CEO Raymond Crosby. “This day of service is a valued tradition for our staff and one way we are able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors.”
Since 2013, the firm has donated 5,360 hours of staff time and $186,600 to support local nonprofits and charities in their important work.
