Crosby, CarrotNewYork Tapped to Promote USDA’s Hungry Pests Initiative
Annapolis, Md. (December 7, 2011) — The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, has selected Crosby Marketing Communications and CarrotNewYork to expand the reach of its “Hungry Pests” public education campaign.
Originally launched in California, the “Hungry Pests” initiative calls attention to several invasive pests that threaten America’s agriculture, forests and other natural resources. The campaign encourages people to change behaviors that contribute to the spread of destructive pests. Crosby and CarrotNewYork will work to expand the outreach program nationwide, initially focusing on twelve states considered at highest risk for the introduction or spread of certain invasive pests. Those states include: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.
Crosby and CarrotNewYork will use a mix of public service campaigns, publicity, social media and online engagement strategies to reach consumers, businesses and specialized audiences such as gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts. Crosby Sponsors “Powerful PSAs” Symposium with National Association of Broadcasters
Annapolis, Md. (October 20, 2011) – This week, Crosby Marketing Communications, in partnership with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), TV Access and Nielsen, hosted “Powerful PSAs,” a symposium focused on sharing best practices for developing successful Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaigns.
The event, which took place at the NAB headquarters in Washington, D.C., brought together more than 120 of the most prominent broadcasters and communication executives from government and nonprofit organizations. These thought-leaders shared insights on creative and distribution strategies for effective PSA programs, and what the future holds.

Crosby Receives Award for Outstanding Sales and Marketing
Annapolis, Md. (October 12, 2011) – Crosby Marketing Communications received an award for outstanding Sales and Marketing at the Comcast Business Class Hall of Fame Awards, an annual event hosted by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.
Crosby received the award for its work with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to increase awareness about the Emerald Ash Borer beetle – an invasive insect that is destroying the nation’s ash trees. Vietnam Veterans of America Selects Crosby to Expand Online Presence
Annapolis, Md. (October 4, 2011) — Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) has selected Crosby Marketing Communications to create and launch a new website and online promotions for its clothing and household goods donation services, a critical source of funding for the advocacy association.Crosby will redesign and reposition VVA’s ClothingDonations.org website to be the premiere online destination for people who want to organize their lives through the donation of household goods and clothing. Crosby Adds New Senior Integration Manager, Darise Deal
Annapolis, Md. (September 28, 2011) – Crosby Marketing Communications, one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s leading agencies, announced tody that Darise Deal has joined the firm as a Senior Integration Manager.
Deal will lead efforts to implement strategic communications campaigns for the Health Resources and Services Administration that encourage consumers to register as organ donors, particularly those within the Hispanic, African American and 50-plus communities. Crosby Wins Three Telly Awards for USDA “Citrus Pinball” Public Service Announcement
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (August 10, 2011) – Crosby Marketing Communications has received three Telly Awards for a public service announcement (PSA) created to support “Save our Citrus,” a campaign developed on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture to help stop the spread of deadly citrus plant diseases.
Crosby won a Silver Telly in public service and two Bronze Tellys in animation and visual effects for the “Citrus Pinball,” television PSA. The PSA features an animated, pinball game that emphasizes the destruction that results from moving citrus fruit and plant material.
The Telly Awards is an international award program honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest in video, film production and web commercials. This year’s Telly Awards Program received more than 11,000 entries from 50 states and five continents, making it one of the program’s most competitive seasons.
