Overall, the Search Marketing Manager will serve as a functional expert within our integrated agency model, primarily focusing on the implementation and active management of large-scale paid search programs for clients.
The individual should possess a comprehensive understanding of online marketing fundamentals and how search engine marketing (SEM) tactics can be applied for our clients. The Search Marketing Manager will be asked to assist with other online marketing initiatives such as mobile marketing, online display and social media activities.
The chief responsibilities of the Search Marketing Manager role are to:
- Lead significant paid search engagements with key clients from concept to execution.
- Evaluate the potential role of SEM within client’s business model; discover and present new opportunities in a precise, convincing manner.
- Shepherd client’s total SEM efforts – keyword development, competitive research, account setup, bid management, on-site optimization, and performance reporting.
- Organize large amounts of quantitative data into relevant and compelling takeaways for stakeholders. Summarize findings to capture key learnings and support clear and compelling recommendations.
- Work with client and agency team members to define success metrics.
- Assist in continuously improving processes for collecting campaign performance data.
- Regularly inform team members about online marketing trends, techniques or technologies that are relevant to our client base.
- Cultivate strong client relationships by providing trusted, strategic counsel on SEM matters.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 2-4 years experience primarily managing SEM campaigns and proving their ROI through conversion analysis
- Expert user of Google advertiser products including AdWords, Analytics, Website Optimizer, Trends, Webmaster Tools, Ad Planner, etc.
- Familiarity with and understanding of bid-management tools and third-party ad servers
- Proven experience with organizing, analyzing and presenting large amounts of campaign performance data
- “New media” user and enthusiast
- Unmatched conscientiousness in producing high-quality work
- Tenacious work ethic
- Above average presentation and written communication skills
- Ability to “connect the dots” and identify potential issues, as well as solve problems quickly and independently
